Kim is an Antioch native and has always loved working with kids. She acquired her first piano student by accident at age 19 when her boss discovered she played the piano and asked about lessons for her daughter. Success with that family led to other coworkers also asking about lessons. From that time, Kim knew that teaching kids to play the piano was something she could be truly passionate about. She took a break from teaching for a few years with a typical "9-5", but went back to private teaching in 2009. Since then, she taught piano at Faith Lutheran School in Antioch, furthered her musical knowledge with courses at CLC, and had a small private studio in downtown Antioch for 3 years prior to opening Rubato Music Studio in 2020.

Born and raised in Bristol, WI, Kait started her musical experience at 5 years old when her father bought her a piano. She still has this piano! It wasn't long before she started piano lessons and after 10 years, her piano teacher retired. She loved her piano teacher and her teaching style, as she always made it fun, so she decided to start teaching lessons on her own at only 15 years old.
Kait has always loved working with kids and sharing her passion for music. In addition to piano, Kait has learned to play the 5-string banjo, mostly self taught. With 30 years of musical background, she has taught piano for 18 years and banjo for 17 years. In her spare time, Kait enjoys playing at church in the worship band and jamming out at bluegrass jams! |

My music journey began when I was 7 and had me taking lessons that continued through college. I discovered a desire to begin teaching when I started taking music classes at Mchenry County College. Upon graduating, I had received my degree in Associates of Fine Arts Music.
I've had the honor of teaching piano for 22 years in Lake, Mchenry, and Cook counties in Illinois as well as Orange County, Florida. I absolutely love children and love to see the passion for music come alive in each individual! It is my desire to provide an atmosphere of enjoyment and fun while each student is learning and growing. Also, it is important for me to personally connect with each student as they are on their journey to discovering their musical gifting. Each one is so unique and carries great value! I look forward to getting to know each student and see their love for music blossom! |

A couple years later, Jenna tried out the cello at a Ravinia orchestra concert. The cellist complimented her attempts and from there Jenna started violin lessons. Jenna enjoyed playing in the orchestra all through grade school and continued loving it. At age 13, she started organ lessons over the summer.
Jenna is currently a Junior at Lakes Community High School and is a member of the D117 Orchestra. Jenna continues to take piano lessons and participates in the Sonata Festival and Achievement in Music (AIM) contests throughout the year. |
